1. Nature of Service
HeyDottore is a technical platform that provides doctors and patients with the tools to communicate via asynchronous chat. HeyDottore does not provide healthcare services: every medical act is the doctor's sole responsibility.
This service does NOT replace in-person medical examination.
2. What Can and Cannot Be Done
Remote consultation CAN:
- Provide medical opinions on mild symptoms
- Clarify doubts about ongoing therapies
- Interpret test results
- Advise on the need for visits
- Prescribe medications (selected cases)
- Provide informational support
Remote consultation CANNOT:
- Handle medical emergencies
- Perform physical examinations
- Diagnose conditions requiring examination
- Replace the emergency room
- Guarantee definitive diagnoses
- Always prescribe medications
3. Patient Responsibility
The Patient is responsible for:
- Providing complete and truthful information about their health
- Not omitting relevant information (allergies, medications, conditions)
- Autonomously assessing if the situation requires urgent care
- Following the Doctor's instructions
- Going to the emergency room if symptoms worsen
- Informing their GP about consultations received
4. Doctor Responsibility
The Doctor responding to the consultation is responsible for:
- Providing professional responses based on information received
- Assessing the appropriateness of remote handling for the specific case
- Directing the patient to in-person care when necessary
- Respecting the Medical Code of Ethics
- Maintaining confidentiality of information
Professional liability for medical services rests exclusively with the Doctor, not the Platform.
5. Platform Role
HeyDottore operates exclusively as a technology service provider and makes available the technical infrastructure for communication between Patients and Doctors. Any medical act carried out through the channel is the sole responsibility of the Doctor, who is required to comply with the Code of Medical Ethics and all regulations applicable to their professional activity, assessing on a case-by-case basis the appropriateness of remote handling versus an in-person visit.
HeyDottore does NOT:
- Provide healthcare services
- Make diagnoses or therapies
- Select which doctors respond
- Validate medical response content
- Assume responsibility for medical errors
